Welcome to the Computer Applications course at Lincoln Middle School. This web page contains what is taught and expected of every student in this class. It is kept on line at all times during class ensuring that as your child is working on the projects, he or she has access to the exact guidelines for each project. These guidelines are contained in the table boxes on the project information sheets. Grading for each project is determined by satisfying the steps contained in the double lined boxes.
The letter grades for this class are based on a straight percentage grading scale. This is as follows:
A = 90 - 100%
P = 51 - 89%
F = 50 >
Half of the grade comes from the projects turned in and half is based on the amount of improvement in the student's keyboarding skills. Adjustments may be made for a students level of English proficiency.
Work habits grades are based both on class work and the level of improvement on the keyboarding skills. Physical limitations are considered when looking at a students progress. If a student is working hard at learning the proper way to type their work habits grade will reflect that. If they do not choose to learn proper keyboarding skills, their grade will reflect that as well.
Citizenship grades are based on behavior in class.
I am happy to talk with you on the phone or in person to answer any questions you may have regarding the subjects taught in this class. Thank you for your continued support.
