3. What challenges might these features have created for them? (You may look at p. 215 for some clues…)

4. What other challenges might Lewis and Clark have faced on their expedition?

5. While continuing to look at the map on p. 214, look at an atlas map of the United States (such as the Nystrom Atlas of U.S. History, pp. 8-9) and name TEN (future) STATES through which Lewis and Clark passed during their long expedition.
